Livestock Resources

       锡林郭勒盟天然草原面积19.2万平方公里，占内蒙古自治区总量的1/4以上，羊、牛、马、 驼等畜种拥有量位居全国地区级首位。主要畜种有乌珠穆沁羊、苏尼特羊、察哈尔羊、乌珠穆沁白绒山羊、内蒙古细毛羊、草原红牛、荷斯坦奶牛、安格斯牛、西门塔尔牛、乌珠穆沁牛、锡林郭勒马和苏尼特双峰驼等，全盟牲畜年饲养量保持在1300万头只左右，其中羊占主要畜种的84.6%左右，苏尼特羊和乌珠穆沁羊以其肉质鲜嫩、绿色有机、营养价值丰富等独特品质享誉国内外肉类食品市场。

       Xilin Gol League has a natural grassland area of 192,000 square kilometers, accounting for more than 1/4 of the total area of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The number of livestock such as sheep, cattle, horses and camels ranks first among all regions in China. The main livestock breeds include Wuzhumuqin sheep, Sonid sheep, Chahar sheep, Wuzhumuqin white cashmere goat, Inner Mongolia fine wool sheep, grassland red cattle, Holstein dairy cattle, Angus cattle, Simmental cattle, Wuzhumuqin cattle, Xilin Gol horse and Sonid Bactrian camel. The annual livestock feeding capacity of the whole league is maintained at around 13 million heads, of which sheep account for about 84.6% of the main livestock breeds. Sonid sheep and Wuzhumuqin sheep are renowned in the domestic and foreign meat markets for their tender meat quality, green organic and rich nutritional value.
